Meet Mary Sue Farmer

Mary Sue is from the Tri-Cites as she grew up and graduated from Grand Haven.  Her and her husband Pete live in Grand Haven and both love to build guitars!

After high school, Mary Sue continued her education in exercise at Baker College and Muskegon Community College.  Mary Sue has taught and trained all fitness levels and has taught a wide variety of group exercise classes over the years. Not only is she a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor, but she is also a certified licensed massage therapist.

Mary Sue enjoys being at the SLCFAC because "the facility is wonderful and I get to help others better themselves and all of the positive motivation supplied by all of the members and staff."

When Mary Sue is not training, teaching or doing massages she enjoys playing and listening to guitars, shopping discount stores to find the best deals and going for walk outside with her husband.  She also enjoys adult coloring books as they are "a great stress buster and fun to do."

Mary Sue's fitness goals are to maintain great and overall health inside and out.  "My age and health scare last year helps me stay motivated and to stay on a good eating and maintenance plan.  If I do not stay on course, it makes me feel sluggish and tired so go, go go and keep moving."

Last year Mary Sue's motivational word was "others, meaning life is not about me.  It is about helping others."  This year her motivational choice is "I am".  This will be reinforced with daily positive affirmations starting with "I am...happy, healthy, etc."  Mary Sue encourages herself and others to stay focused on your workouts and schedule time for yourself.
